Summer Activities The warmth of the sun soon turn throughts to summer family vacations. Enjoy boating, swimming, barbecuing and campfires over the long, lazy days of summer. The deep, crystal clear water of Wakomata provides excellent boating, swimming and snorkeling. Swim off the dock in front of your cottage, or boat across to the east shore of Wakomata where you will find secluded sand beaches that are accessible only by boat. On-site you will find a small childrens' playground and a horseshoe pit for the adults. On rainy days we will open the lounge for movies, music, our library and ping pong. There is no charge for the use of the lounge. The local terrain is great for hiking, mountain biking, and driving tours. Cedar Rail Ranch is a local riding stable and is located just 20 minutes from Wakomata. Hiking There are numerous trails and logging roads all around the resort suitable to a quick 10 minute stroll or an all day jaunt. Please be advised that bears are in the area and for piece of mind we do have bear spray at the office. It is no guarantee of complete protection against bears but it probably helps. We will loan it free of charge as long as it is returned unused. If you are hiking locally one of our dogs would be more than glad to go with you. See Rocco or Abra if you want to take one or both of them. Kayaking & Canoeing The Mississagi River Valley has numerous lakes and rivers to explore. We have both Kayaks and Canoes available for rent along with a shuttle service for a day long Mississagi River Adventure.
